The pandemic really opened our eyes to the need for an outstanding virtual tutoring service. The experience most families had during the height of COVID-19 was that of a poorly thrown-together, disengaging view of online learning. The reality was that no one was prepared. Children were unfocused because the world was a scary place, parents’ anxieties were at an all-time high, and families were stressed being cooped up together while balancing remote work.
Stride Tutoring is a portfolio brand of the highly successful Stride, Inc. founded in 2022 to offer online tutoring support both to school districts and direct-to-consumer. Our parent company has been pioneering online education for over twenty years, most notably through public and private virtual schools offered via our sister company, K12. Some of the other prominent brands in the Stride portfolio include Stride Learning Solutions, Stride Career Prep, MedCerts, Tech Elevator, and Galvanize.
Stride, Inc. decided that regardless of whether or not parents wanted to pursue a fully online education experience for their children, it would benefit everyone if we took the knowledge we’ve accumulated over several decades and coupled it with extensive research about parent and student tutoring needs to deliver an outstanding online tutoring service. Something that would be simple to use and connect families with the most qualified tutors from around the country.

I love guiding students in unlocking the wonders of math and helping them understand the “why” behind the concepts. I strive to make math approachable and fun, and I am here to work with each student at every step of the way to ensure that they feel confident to succeed in their mathematical journey.

I firmly believe that every student can achieve academic success, especially when they are inspired, so I try to connect students to subjects based on their hobbies and interests. By tapping into their personal passions, I aim to create a vibrant and engaging learning environment that sparks enthusiasm and cultivates a genuine love for the subject matter.

My teaching philosophy revolves around meeting students where they are, providing the necessary support and guidance to unlock their learning capabilities. I try to build relationships with students to help them to relax enough to ask questions and be willing to fail; one of my favorite things to tell students is that “mistakes are welcome here!”
Unlike most tutoring companies, we exclusively use state-certified teachers who are familiar with real world curricula, close to the classroom, and are extensively background screened. We also embrace the future of learning by exclusively offering online tutoring sessions. This greatly expands student access to a vast pool of qualified tutors.
Stride Tutoring accepts applications from all over the country. We then screen every tutor with a comprehensive background check, validate their teaching credentials, and ensure they’re a good fit for our platform.
Yes and no. Stride Tutoring itself launched services direct to consumers September 14, 2022. However, we’re a portfolio brand born out of Stride, Inc., an industry leader that has been pioneering the online education space for over twenty years with public and private virtual schools through our K12 business.
Stride Tutoring uses a proprietary technology platform custom-built for students and tutors to interact with one another through messaging and video. Tutoring sessions are hosted in a video collaboration platform called Newrow.
