Big ideas. Creative solutions. Inspiring student voices.

The 2026 K12 Innovation Challenge brought all of that and more as students from across the country stepped up to imagine new possibilities for learning and share their innovative ideas with confidence.

This year, students in grades 6–12 explored ways to improve education, solve everyday challenges, and make learning more engaging through one of three categories: Tomorrow’s Classroom, Student Life Hacks, and Gamify It! Their presentations showcased not only creativity and problem-solving skills but also the courage to think differently and bring their ideas to life.

We’re excited to introduce this year’s winners and celebrate the incredible accomplishments of all who participated.

We also extend a special thank-you to our partners, Tallo and WGU, for supporting this year’s competition and helping students explore their interests, talents, and future opportunities.

Celebrating Every Student Who Participated

Before we announce our winners, we want to recognize every student who entered the 2026 K12 Innovation Challenge.

Each project represented hours of brainstorming, research, creation, and refinement. Whether students worked independently or as part of a team, they demonstrated valuable skills that will serve them well, far beyond the classroom, including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and perseverance.

To every participant: thank you for sharing your ideas with us. Your creativity, curiosity, and determination made this year’s challenge truly special.

Meet the Judges

Our finalists presented their ideas to a distinguished panel of judges with expertise in education, innovation, and career readiness:

  • Allison Danielsen, CEO of Tallo
  • Marie Izquierdo, Chief Performance Officer at Stride K12
  • Kashif Smiley, Northeast Regional Director at WGU

Projects were evaluated on creativity, impact, and execution, making for an exciting and competitive final round.
