How can your child benefit from STEM Education?
Careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) are on the rise. And a K12-powered online STEM education can help your child build the teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills they'll need—no matter what they choose to do in the future.
What is STEM education?
STEM education programs aim to integrate all four STEM disciplines for use in real-life applications. Project-based learning and problem-solving are often big focuses.
The K12 curriculum embeds STEM activities in math and science courses in grades 6–12. And many other courses include exercises, labs, and activities that involve various STEM disciplines.
If your teen is looking for a more intensive online STEM education experience, K12-powered Destinations Career Academy (in select states) can help them explore the possibilities. They'll gain real-world skills through career-focused pathways in business, health and human services, information technology, and more.

STEM for Fun
Your student can have fun with STEM outside the classroom too by participating in K12 STEM clubs‡ that can supplement a STEM education program. These teacher-led clubs not only provide enrichment, they give students the chance to develop positive social connections with their peers. Clubs are available from kindergarten to 12th grade and focus on topics such as:
*Red is a 2020 student at a K12-powered school in Oregon, and his statement reflects his experience at his school.
**Kierra is a 2020 student at Destinations Career Academy of Colorado, and her statement reflects her experience at her school.
†Joshua is a 2019 student at a K12-powered school in Washington, D.C., and his statement reflects his experience at his school.
‡Clubs vary yearly and by school.
