Clubs
Once you become enrolled, you can visit thebigthinK¹² to learn more about our clubs, meeting times, or the amazing teacher sponsors who help manage them. Also, additional clubs are always added throughout the year, as well as new meeting dates and times.
Below are some of the clubs we've recently offered.
(NOTE: K¹²'s clubs are available to families enrolled in K¹² Partner Schools and full-time K¹² International Academy students.)
Sports Club
Open to students in grades 7–12.
This club meets to discuss current sport topics. We encourage all students who are interested in sports to join us. There will also be games and contests for students to participate in. And, students can enjoy a presentation by a guest speaker—or two!
High School Book Club
Open to students in grades 9–12.
Getting It Together - Goal Setting
Open to students in grades 7–12.
Students are monitored and guided by a teacher while they interact with one another to set realistic personal and/or academic goals. Study skills and learning styles are also discussed to give students the right tools to reach their academic goals.
Math Club
Open to students in grades 4–8.
Math Club brings together students who share a common interest in math and encourages them to collaborate on solving math problems. Also, students will learn to have fun exploring the various approaches to solving math problems, as well as develop critical thinking skills as they learn how to connect math skills to problems that may occur in extreme sports such as hang gliding and kayaking.
MS International Travel Club
Open to students in grades 6–8.
Middle School International Travel Club provides students with an opportunity to better grasp cultural exchange and promotes student awareness. The club also helps students develop an appreciation for the diverse cultures and heritages in our school and community.
Oceanography Club
Open to students in grades 4–6.
Oceanography Club is for students who love the ocean and want to learn more about it. We'll study various oceans in the world, ocean exploration, and marine biology.
Brain Teaser Club
Open to students in grades 6–8.
Brain Teaser Club challenges young minds in sixth through eighth grade with fun, puzzle-solving challenges. Students will find themselves thinking of new ways to solve difficult questions.
Geography
Open to students in grades 7–12.
Geography Club is a forum for students to explore, discuss, and learn about the world using geographical disciplines and tools. Students will discuss issues the world is facing in climatology and demography, and learn information about meteorology and how to create and read Cartographic information.
HS Culinary Club
Open to students in grades 7–12.
Students will learn new cooking skills while sharing recipes with others.
K–5 Volunteer Club
Open to students in grades K–5.
This club will inspire K¹² kids with big hearts who want to volunteer their time to help make a difference.
Character Education
Open to students in grades K–6.
Students will discuss caring and giving.
Seeds of Change
Open to students in grades 9–12.
In Seeds of Change, we'll discuss opportunities available for students to serve and volunteer in their communities, while focusing on hunger and poverty in America.
Stock Market Club
Open to students in grades 6–12.
This club gives students the opportunity to learn about the Stock Market and practice buying and selling stocks. Members are also given the opportunity of deciding some additional topics to be discussed in this club.
HS Music Club
Open to students in grades 8–12.
The K¹² International Music Club is an opportunity for musicians or students with a passion for music to come together and share their interests and talents.
Geocaching Club
Open to students in grades 7–12.
This club is for students who are looking for high-tech treasure. Attendees will learn how to use the Geocaching.com website. The club will also discuss hiding and seeking caches. Club members are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the www.geocaching.com website and take pictures of their treasure hunts to share with the group.
Health and Fitness Club
Open to students in grades 9–12.
Students will learn how to improve their wellbeing through social, emotional, physical, mental, environmental, and spiritual health components.
Children’s Theater
Open to students in grades 3–8.
Do you have a student in third through eighth grade who is interested in exploring his or her theatrical side in drama, theater, or stagecraft? If so, this club is for him or her! Join us!
Book Buddies
Open to students in grades 3–5; 6–8.
Book Buddies is a fun way for students across the country to meet other students who share their same love of books and reading.
Character Education
Open to students in grades 7–12.
Positive character traits are the foundation for healthy relationships and sense of self. In Character Education, we'll explore what it takes to show good character, and focus on a trait in the following months. Students will learn how to develop healthy characteristics that empower them to bring change to their community.
Show and Tell
Open to students in grades K–3.
This club is for students who want to "show and tell" an item of their choice, just as they would in a brick-and-mortar classroom. Students can share a book they read, a project they completed (using the K¹² curriculum), or a special belonging. Note: A Webcam is required to participate.
K–8 Music Club
Open to students in grades K-8.

Open to students in grades 9-12.
The Middle School K¹² International Debate Club connects students across the country in meaningful, lively, and respectful discussions and debates on a variety of topics, with the goal to: uphold truth and integrity; build student confidence; promote camaraderie; help students develop critical thinking, rhetoric, and public speaking skills; and to have fun!

Story Seekers Story Time
Open to students in grades 2–5.
Story Seekers offers an online "story time" for students in grades two through five. Students can enjoy high-quality storybooks from contemporary bookshelves; book readings are intertwined with exciting, interactive activities relating to the stories.
