How it Works (K-8)

The Wisconsin Virtual Academy is a tuition-free public school that uses the K¹² curriculum, which is accessed via an online school as well as through more traditional methods. Materials are delivered right to the family's doorstep–including books, CDs, and even microscopes and cell samples.

We also partner parents and students with a certified teacher to help guide and track their progress through the curriculum. There are regular face-to-face meetings as well.

Student-to-student interaction is emphasized, too, so WIVA students are always well educated and well socialized.

Who is this intended for?

The Wisconsin Virtual Academy K-8 program serves students in grades K-8 who reside within the state of Wisconsin and comply with all Open Enrollment requirements during the designated window.

What are the costs?

Because WIVA is part of the public school system, the Wisconsin Virtual Academy is tuition-free. Enrolled families receive the K¹² curriculum, as well as a loaner computer, printer, and Internet stipend.
