Important News
K¹² is pleased to announce that the Greenfield School District has submitted a proposal to the Massachusetts Department of Education to convert the Massachusetts Virtual Academy at Greenfield into a commonwealth public virtual school. K¹² has been a proud partner with Greenfield Schools for three years, providing curriculum and services for Greenfield’s virtual academy—the only public virtual school in New England. We anticipate continuing as the curriculum and services provider next year.
K¹² processes enrollment applications for the Greenfield virtual academy. Completed applications are forwarded to the Greenfield admissions committee for review and action. On July 1, 2013, when the new proposed school will begin, all processed enrollment applications will be transferred to the new virtual school administration team.
Any acceptances for 2013–2014 will be tentative, pending the new virtual school receiving a certificate to open and the new Board of Trustees acting on the recommended enrollments.
How to Enroll
Important Announcement
Enrollment is now open for grades K–10.
We're now accepting applications in grades K–10 for the upcoming 2013–2014 school year in anticipation of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (MDESE) approving our application to transition to a Commonwealth Virtual School.
Under the current Virtual Innovation School legislation, we are limited to just 500 students. Therefore, if the number of new applications received in any grouping (K–3, 4–5, 6–8, and 9–10) by 5:00 PM ET in Thursday, May 30 exceeds the total number of openings, a lottery will be held. All families will be notified of the lottery guidelines and timelines if one is needed.
Any acceptances for 2013–2014 will be tentative, pending the new virtual school receiving a certificate to open and the new Board of Trustees acting on the pending applications.
Please note that certain target groups will have priority for enrollment. Currently enrolled families do not need to resubmit an application for the upcoming 2013–2014 school year.

If you are enrolling a kindergartener, please note that you must confirm with your resident district what the age requirement is for Kindergarten enrollment in that district. For Kindergarten enrollment, we are bound by resident district policy.
Submit Forms and Documentation
After you have completed the online application, download and submit the required forms included in the MAVA at Greenfield Enrollment Forms Packet:

Admissions Conference
Once you submit your application, you will be assigned a Personal Admissions Liaison (PAL) who will assist you through the enrollment process, answer all of your questions, and conduct your admissions conference over the phone. During this conference, your PAL will verify your student's information, relay school policies, and review the responsibilities of both the student and the Learning Coach.
Approval
Upon receipt and successful review of submitted documents, and review by the MAVA at Greenfield Enrollment Committee, your student will be approved. You may review your student's enrollment status by logging in to your online account.
