Head of School

Desiree Laughlin, IDVA head of school, holds a bachelor's degree in special education from the University of Northern Colorado, and a master's degree in education administration from Idaho State University. Desiree has more than 25 years of experience working with students with disabilities. She has taught special education and work-based learning at the high-school level, has served as a junior high administrator, and has been a director of special education. Desiree has served as the president of the Idaho Association of Special Education Administrators, a member of the Board of Director's for Development Workshop, Incorporated, a member of the Idaho Falls Community Transition Team, and a member of the Bonneville County Children's Mental Health Alliance. She has worked on several state committees developing standards for certification of special education teachers, state achievement standards for humanities, and transition services for secondary students with disabilities.
