Mari’s schoolwork is a mix of scheduled, live classes called Class Connect sessions and self-guided offline assignments and activities that can be done more at her own pace. Live classes are also recorded so Mari can catch up on anything she might miss with her doctor’s appointments.
A typical day may have her starting with live art and English classes led by her state-certified teachers and then include activities for math and history later. If she gets stuck at all, her mom Hope (also her Learning Coach) is there to help. She can ask the teachers questions in the live classes, via email, or during weekly office hours.
A benefit of schools powered by K12 is that the educational materials—a computer, textbooks, supplies for offline activities, and more—are provided.
