Make a Difference

What if high school was all you needed to get started on your dream job? Many healthcare careers don't require a college degree. You can begin making a difference sooner than you thought!  

Orion Education Group (OEG) and its affiliates Orion Technical College (Davenport, IA) and Orion Institute (Perrysburg, OH), are excited to partner with OHVA in the health and wellness fields.  For more information about this partnership that will allow students to earn advanced standing in relevant programs at Orion, click here. 

Which pathways are offered?

Health Information Management—This pathway will prepare students with the mathematics, science and technical skills to create, manage and maintain confidential electronic health data and records.

Allied Health (Medical Assisting or State-Tested Nursing Assistant)—This pathway prepares students with the mathematics, science and technical skills to provide clinical assistance in patient care, emergency interventions (CPR, first aid, AED), nutrition, dentistry, and surgery.

What types of jobs can my student learn about and prepare for?*

Examples of jobs include:

  • Admitting Clerk
  • Advanced Practical Nurse
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Medical and Health Services Manager 
  • Medical Assistant
  • Medical Biller
  • Medical Transcriptionist

*Some of these jobs require additional education and certifications once a student graduates from high school.
