Blended Options for Schools and Districts
Blended Learning: The Bridge to Customized Education
For educators, the beauty of technology is that it provides the ability to truly customize students' learning experiences. Does a child learn best with the structure of a brick-and-mortar school or the flexibility of pace and place that a fully online experience allows? What of those who require a little bit of both—brick-and-mortar structure and in-person instruction with the flexibility of a virtual environment? For these students, blended learning is the bridge between the two approaches.
At K12, our Blended Services team’s primary purpose is to assist our school and district partners in combining the best of traditional in-classroom instruction with online learning to maximize each student's academic potential. We have expertise across all areas—teacher training, operations, special programs, marketing, IT, facilities planning, school culture and leadership development—and the capacity to support programs from planning to launch to long-term implementation (or any variation thereof).
To help you get started, we invite you to learn more about our blended learning products and services.

Consulting Services
When launching a new blended program or school, access to K12 staff who are experienced with the operations of K12 courses and systems, as well as the detailed steps that have helped other blended schools succeed, can be crucial.
We understand that each partner has different skill sets and capabilities. As such, we offer à la carte consulting services to uniquely meet your needs for the setup, planning, training, launch, and operation of a new blended learning model.
Our Blended Services team provides consulting services that are grouped into the seven areas listed below. Each area of consulting can be delivered according to four levels of service. You choose which services you want as well as the level of service.
Relationship Management
In addition to curriculum and student materials, K12 can provide relationship management services. The K12 relationship manager works directly with you to help ensure coordination in planning and implementation of the blended program. The relationship manager also serves as a single point of contact to address concerns.
Academic Professional Development and Training
K12 assists in the initial and ongoing training of teachers and staff, from focusing on the purely functional items of how to access and use the school tools provided, to demonstrating the best practices of how to motivate families and students who show reluctance to engage. This service provides effective ways to engage parents as partners.
Special Programs
K12 assists with the implementation of successful Special Education, English Learner, Section 504, Response to Intervention (RtI)/Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), McKinney Vento, and when appropriate, Advanced Learner programs in blended learning models. Additionally, the senior manager of special programs can assist with tracking and analyzing program components to help ensure that special programs being implemented are effectively supporting special student populations.
Marketing and Enrollment
K12 will help enhance your student recruiting efforts by offering marketing and enrollment support, which may include hosting information sessions and community/program-based events; running general awareness campaigns via print, radio, television, and outdoor advertising; evaluating community perception and brand distinction; and assisting with enrollment forecasting and retention strategies. The cost of any marketing campaign (purchasing radio spots, printing posters, renting spaces for events) is the school's direct responsibility.
Leadership and School Culture
K12 will work with you to help develop a healthy leadership and school culture. Our services include, but are not limited to, a culture analysis, multiple observations (with feedback), surveys, and facilitating both short- and long-term strategic planning sessions.
Operations
Our staff assists you in utilizing K12's systems and tools. We provide support to the school's efforts to help maintain the integrity and confidentiality of student records and provide a yearly audit to complement those efforts. We also help project manage operational aspects of major initiatives occurring in your program throughout a school-year life cycle. Such initiatives may include enrollment, school launch, setup of systems timeline, semester transition, internal review, registration and re-registration, year-end transition, quality assurance, transcripts and progress reporting, and summer school.
Facilities and Information Technology
Our staff can assist with your facility-related efforts, which may include providing input on lease negotiations; buildout; selection of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE); and the network and technology setup of the blended site location.
