How It Works (K-8)

The Wyoming Virtual Academy is a tuition-free public educational program that uses the K¹² curriculum, which is accessed via an online school as well as through more traditional methods. Materials are delivered right to the family’s doorstep—including books, CDs, and even microscopes and cell samples for science projects.

We also partner parents and students with a highly qualified, Wyoming-licensed teacher to guide and track their progress and achievement through the curriculum. There are frequent face-to-face meetings and events as well.

Student-to-student interaction is emphasized too, so WYVA students are provided with a variety of opportunities for social activities and engagement.

Who is This Intended For?

The Wyoming Virtual Academy serves K-12 students who officially reside within the state of Wyoming.

K-6 Students residing in Campbell, Weston, Crook, Johnson, and Sheridan Counties also have the opportunity to enroll in Wyoming Virtual School, a program of Campbell County School District that also uses the K12 curriculum.

What Are the Costs?

Because we are part of the Niobrara County School District system, the Wyoming Virtual Academy is tuition free. The entire K12 curriculum is provided free of charge, as well as a loaner computer, printer, and Internet subsidy.
