How many of my children can attend WIVA?
Because the Wisconsin Virtual Academy provides all the lesson plans and materials needed for K-12, many parents find it easy to enroll multiple children in the program. We currently have families with as many as five children in the program being guided by the same learning coach in conjunction with the support of WIVA teachers.
How much does it cost to attend the Wisconsin Virtual Academy?
Since WIVA is a public virtual school program, there is no tuition. WIVA provides students all instructional materials for the program. Students and families will be responsible for providing some consumable materials.
What is the attendance policy?
WIVA works with families toward a positive attendance record to meet their required number of hours. The Online School (OLS) for students in grades K-8 is flexible and allows learning to take place at anytime—night or day. Therefore, we take attendance based on the number of hours completed.
Can I take a vacation during the school year?
The school calendar includes school "holidays" or vacation time. You will not have access to your assigned teacher(s) during this time, but you can continue to do school work. Whenever possible, family vacations should align with school vacation days. Parents are encouraged to contact their teacher if they plan a vacation that does not coordinate with the school calendar.
