Meet the Staff behind WAVA

WAVA's staff is composed of professionals and specialists dedicated to making a virtual academy a very real learning experience. Here are some of the people who work behind the scenes to keep WAVA responsive to your needs:

Enrollment Manager
Eileen Armstrong
previously served as a substitute teacher for seven years in a K–12 school before making a successful bid for public office, winning a seat on the School Board––a position she also held for seven years. Her roles included Secretary, Vice Chairperson, and Chairperson of the Board. She was also the legislative liaison/educational lobbyist for five years. She has been the Executive Director of a transitional home for homeless women and children whose lives were devastated by substance abuse, where the focus was changing lives through education. She also served as the Chair of the Coalition to End Homelessness for Pierce County, and currently serves on the Local FEMA board. Eileen has been a recipient of the Alaska Association of School Board’s Excellence in Education award. Eileen received her bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.

Registrar

Personal Admissions Liaison (PAL)
