Program Overview

The WAVA Ft. Lewis Community Program offers a flexible tuition-free option to active-duty military families in Washington. Students receive a unique blend of offline and online learning, while parents get all of the resources and support they need to help their kids succeed: easy-to-use planning and progress tools, and instructional materials including textbooks, workbooks, art supplies, science equipment, and more.

Each student is assigned to a Washington state-certified teacher; weekly face-to-face meetings keep students, parents, and teachers connected; and education activities and field trips offer plenty of opportunities for socialization.

About the Curriculum

The WAVA Ft. Lewis Community Program uses curriculum from K¹², the nation's leading online learning provider for K-12 students. Courses are offered in six core subjects—Language Arts/English, Math, Science, History, Art, and Physical Education—and based on decades of education research about how minds really work. K¹² online courses provide a quality education that your kids can access anywhere there's an Internet connection.

The Learning Center

Students meet once-a-week for instruction with a Washington state-certified teacher. Teachers oversee all aspects of the learning experience and offer guidance and support to students and their families when they need it most.
