FAQs - Testing & Assessment
What tests are required as part of the program?
Students who are enrolled full-time in WAVA are required to take the following tests:
• Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL); grades 3-8
• Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS); grade 2 only
Do I have to participate in state testing?
Full-time students are required to take the WASL, which is facilitated across the state every spring. While not required to, part-time students may elect to take the WASL. In addition, parents of part-time students will need to contact their local school district in order to locate a testing location closest to them if they choose not to take the WASL with WAVA.
