Testing & Assessment FAQs
What tests are required as part of the program?
Students who are enrolled full-time in WAVA are required to take the following tests:
- Measurements of Student Progress (MSP)—grades 3–8
- High School Proficiency Exam (HSPE) Reading/Writing—grade 10
- End of Course Exam—Algebra, Geometry and Biology
- Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS)—grade 2 only
Do I have to participate in state testing?
Full-time students are required to take the MSP, which is facilitated across the state every spring. While not required to, part-time students may elect to take the MSP. In addition, parents of part-time students will need to contact their local school district in order to locate a testing location closest to them if they choose not to take the MSP with WAVA.
