Meet Our Board
Karen Rackliffe, board president
Mrs. Rackliffe is an advocate of advancing educational options in Utah. Karen is a seminar speaker for homeschooling conferences in Utah, California, Oregon, Nevada, Texas, Massachusetts and Virginia. She speaks on topics related to art, science, language arts and journaling. Mrs. Rackliffe was a private art instructor in Utah and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in independent studies with a minor in sociology from Brigham Young University.
Lori Harmon
Mrs. Harmon is a supervisor for Usborne Children's Books a division of Educational Development Corporation. A mother of five, she has homeschooled her children for five years. Mrs. Harmon has used the K¹² Curriculum for three years. Mrs. Harmon holds a bachelor of art degree in political science from Brigham Young University. She has been a co-op teacher in science, history, and literature and a Cub Master for Boy Scouts of America. Mrs. Harmon completed a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Dallis A. Nordstrom
Dallis A. Nordstrom is a lawyer who focuses on civil litigation at Young Hoffman, LLC in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she is a partner. She previously served as general counsel for HOWA, a regional construction and development company founded in 1951. Before joining HOWA Mrs. Nordstrom worked as an associate with Bruce R. Baird, widely regarded as an expert in land use law and litigation in Utah. Mrs. Nordstrom has also been an advisor, lobbyist, consultant and campaign manager for various state, municipal, and issue-oriented campaigns. She received her juris doctorate from the SJ Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah, where she was awarded best oralist and best team in the national Burton D. Wechsler First Amendment Moot Court Competition, and received her bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Utah.
Douglas Shaw, chairman of the Finance Committee
Mr. Shaw has 17 years of professional experience in school management, human resources and development of teacher-building programs. Doug was the assistant superintendent at the Santa Clara Office of Education and the principal of the Metropolitan Education District in San Jose, Calif. Mr. Shaw has a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Brigham Young University and a Master of Science in administration from California State University. Mr. Shaw holds a K-12 teacher credential and has experience serving exceptional students.
Kent Bodily
Mr. Bodily received his bachelor's of science degree in accounting from the University of Utah in 1994, and a master's degree of professional accountancy in 1996. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Utah Association of Public Accountants, and is CPA-certified in tax practice at Savas Greene & Company, LLC. To date, Mr. Bodily has provided tax services for the general public, estates, trusts, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
Robyn Bagley
Ms. Bagley feels privileged for the opportunity to play an active role in her children's lives. As a stay-at-home mom, she understands the challenges parents face when looking for the best educational options for their child. Her involvement in politics, policy, and education initiatives evolved from multiple opportunities to serve her community, and she has a strong conviction that citizens should be active participants in improving their own community. Ms. Bagley is the Board Chair for Parents for Choice in Education, a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to ensuring every child has equal access to a quality education. She also serves on the Third District Judicial Nominating Commission, having been appointed by Governor Jon Huntsman to serve a four-year term. Since August 2008, she served as Board Chair for the Open High School of Utah Charter School, and today, remains committed to empowering parents by making more options available to students and their families and promoting innovative solutions to Utah's educational challenges.
Lincoln Fillmore
Mr. Fillmore is a career education reformer and an experienced teacher, principal, and business manager. He started Charter Solutions, Inc. more than two years ago to help charter schools handle the operations side of education.
