How to Enroll

Important Update: Texas Virtual Academy @ Southwest has reached it’s enrollment capacity for the 08-09 school year. If you would like to be placed on a waitlist for future consideration, please complete all steps below, including providing all required enrollment documents. As soon as we receive your enrollment documents, we will place your student on a waitlist for our school. Your student will be placed according to the date and time we receive all of your enrollment documents. Please keep in mind that until we receive ALL of the required enrollment documents, your student will not be considered on our waitlist. 

 

We will continue to accept students from the waitlist as positions become available throughout the school year. Once you have secured a spot on the waitlist by submitting all enrollment documents, we will contact you to finish the enrollment process when a vacated position becomes available to you.

Step 1. Complete Online Application

Please note: You must live in Regions I-VIII (Edinburg, Corpus Christi, Victoria, Houston, Beaumont, Huntsville, Kilgore, Mt. Pleasant), Regions X-XIII (Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, Austin), or Region XX (San Antonio) and your child must be entering grades 3-8 in fall 2008 in order to enroll in TXVA. Step 2. Provide Required Forms
After you have completed the online application, fax or mail the following required documents :

• Copy of birth certificate
• Copy of proof of residence
• Immunization records
• Download additional enrollment documents

In order to expedite your student’s enrollment, please submit these additional required documents within 7-10 days of completing the online application.


Step 3. Administer Placement Tests (Placement tests not required for students enrolling after October 1st)
Administer the K¹² Math and Language Arts placement tests, which will help us to determine the appropriate courses for your student. Your student may start the placement tests while you are gathering the required forms (Step 2).

To administer the placement tests, log in to your Enrollment Dashboard and click “Begin” in the "Tests" column next to your student’s name for detailed instructions.


Step 4. Placement Conference
After you've completed steps 1 and 3, a placement specialist will contact you to discuss your student's course level.
