Customer Training Sessions
While the sessions are directed toward those who are homeschooling or whose children are taking supplemental or independent study courses, all K¹² parents and students are welcome to join us , including those attending a Virtual Academy. Access to all listed seminars is via Elluminate Live!
Great Start with K¹²
If you are new to K¹², this section of seminars will help you get acclimated to the various aspects of K¹² including the Online School (OLS) and managing many items including your teaching area and materials. We will spend time reviewing some tips and tricks in order to help you schedule, review lesson lists, check for missing attendance and lessons, and be there to answer your questions. Veteran K¹² parents lead these seminars so remember; you’re never alone when you purchase K¹². We’re here to offer support and insight to help you along your journey.
- Session: New Parent Welcome and Orientation
This seminar is designed for the brand new K¹² parent. We will review where to find the latest training information, basic features of Elluminate to help you when you participate in future seminars, information about the K¹² community, and answer your questions.

- Session: Parent Coffee House: Open Forum
This is an informal Elluminate session dedicated to discussions of recent homeschool topics and exploring additional thoughts and ideas regarding your life at home. Parents can join for a few minutes to ask questions or stay as long as you like. Veteran K¹² parents host the Coffee House and welcome all K¹²’ers to stop by and share your thoughts, ask for ideas and suggestions or just receive encouragement.

- Session: OLS Exploration
This is a perfect seminar for brand new K¹² families. We will review the basic components to the online school and answer questions. If you have not received your registration ID and/or are waiting on materials, use this time to learn more about the lesson structure.

It could be a day, a week or longer when you may need to discover and implement some new strategies regarding encouraging your children. These seminars are student focused in an effort to help your child build additional skills beyond the K¹² lessons to support their lifelong education. Class 2: Type the Body of a Research Paper
Learn about character and line spacing, paragraph indents, offsetting long quotes, finding and inserting special characters, creating Headers/Footers, adding page numbering, working with Page Setup and Print Preview features.

Class 3: Create the Bibliography Page / Works Cited Page
Learn the proper way to create a Bibliography Page or Works Cited Page. In this class we will learn more about Paragraph Formatting using the ruler, formatting dialog box and toolbars. Learn to alphabetize the bibliography page automatically.

Class 4: Proofing and Publishing a Paper
In this class we will finish up that GREAT Research Paper. Learn tips and tricks to make proofing and publishing a paper a snap. Learn to use the Thesaurus, Copy/Move and Paste information in a new place, use the Spelling & Grammar features, Word Count, Page Breaks, Create a Title Page, and more about Print Preview and Printing options.

- Using Word to Type a Basic Letter & Letter to the Editor (All Grades especially Grade 5 & 7)
Class 1: Creating the Basic Letter / Letter to the Editor
In this class we will learn to type a basic block style letter using Microsoft Word. We will learn tips and tricks of selecting text, inserting and deleting text and moving text around. We will also cover features of paragraph layout and line spacing. We will also cover best practices when saving a file.
