FIRST Robotics is a global technology and engineering competition for high school students. A regional competition is returning to Knoxville for a third straight year March 28-30, 2013, taking place at the Knoxville Convention Center.

The Chamber has played a key role in bringing a regional competition to Knoxville. The competition emphasizes science, innovation, and design, and inspires students to think about science and technology.

Dozens of teams with hundreds of technology-minded students will pour into East Tennessee for the competition. In 2012, Gibbs, Oak Ridge, Webb School, L&N Stem Academy, Bearden, and Farragut were among the East Tennessee high school teams that competed.
