South Carolina Virtual Charter School

How it Works (K-8)

The SCVCS K-8 Program

The South Carolina Virtual Charter School is a tuition-free public school that uses the K¹² curriculum, which is accessed via an online school as well as through more traditional methods. Materials are delivered right to the family’s doorstep—including books, CDs, and even bags of rocks and dirt.

We also partner parents and students with a highly qualified, South Carolina–licensed teacher to guide and track their progress and achievement through the curriculum. There are frequent face-to-face meetings and events as well.

Student-to-student interaction is emphasized, too, so SCVCS students are provided with a variety of opportunities for social activities and engagement.

Who is this intended for?

The South Carolina Virtual Charter School K-8 program serves K-8 students who officially reside within the state of South Carolina.

What are the costs?

Because we are part of the public school system, the South Carolina Virtual Charter School is tuition free. The entire K¹² curriculum is provided free of charge, including online school access, and planning and progress tools.
