Working with Teachers
An experienced K-8 teacher is assigned to each child and communicates with parents and students on a regular basis through e-mail, telephone, and online meetings. Teachers remain constantly involved to monitor progress, ensure mastery, and develop specific intervention plans when a child is struggling. The teacher manages all facets of the instructional experience.
K¹² high school courses are taught by teachers specifically experienced in their respective subjects. They grade students’ assignments and assessments, respond to student questions via e-mail or phone, conduct online tutorial sessions to reinforce difficult topics, and conduct online “office hours” to allow students to “drop in” with questions. With K¹² teachers at the helm, parents don’t need to worry about having expertise in high school subjects.
We have created a curriculum program to optimize the relationship between your teacher, the planning and support tools, the student, and you.
We're behind you all the way
If you're like most parents, your excitement about taking an active role in your children's education is probably mixed with a little apprehension. After all, few parents are also subject-matter experts. We understand this and have specifically designed our program to give you the tools, skills, and support you need to act as your children’s coach. In addition to regular communication with the teacher and school administration this support structure includes:
- Thorough lesson plans
- Assessment tools and guidance for state exams
- Textbooks, workbooks, and the materials for a rich and varied experience
- Planned school outings and educational adventures
- Regular education showcases and events where you can meet other parents, interact with teachers and staff, discuss issues, and gather helpful tips
- An online parent and student support network, using online discussion forums and variety of other online community tools
- Monthly progress meetings
- Parent/teacher workshops

The role of teachers using the K¹² program is to help make your children's education as individually relevant as it can be. They are available each day to answer questions, address issues, and provide support. If they can't respond immediately, they usually respond with a call or e-mail within 24 hours.
