Public School Going Virtual

FOX 13 (Salt Lake City, UT)

(Dec. 13, 2007) A new charter school in Utah is giving parents and students have a new option for next fall. Utah Virtual Academy is the first statewide virtual public charter school. Certified teachers grade students work, proctor tests, lead field trips, and track attendance, but the work is done in the home. And the program is portable, which is appealing to many Utahns. It's fabulous for military families for students who are competitive athletes and have busy training schedules, students who are chronically ill and can't physically get to school everyday, really caters to a variety of people. Applications are now being accepted for students in kindergarten through 11th grade
