As technology for online schooling continues to evolve at lightning speed, it's little wonder that, for many students, cyber learning represents a viable and increasingly popular alternative to brick-and-mortar schools.
The 2013 K¹² Academic Report shows the progress K¹² is making toward realizing the promise of technology-enabled individualized learning. Arizona Virtual Academy, an online public K–12 school, is expanding its program for blended learning by partnering with the Valley of the Sun YMCA. Through the partnership, students will be able to attend classes while participating online at any of 17 physical learning centers across Arizona beginning in the fall semester.
The district's full-time online program will offer students in grades K-8 core classes in language arts, math and science, along with a variety of electives and access to the district's extracurricular activities and athletic teams.
