Maurice J. Moyer Academy, the only comprehensive high school program in Wilmington, DE, provides students in the New Castle county area in grades 6-12 the opportunity to realize their full potential through a world-class, tuition-free public education. This program provides a truly unique learning experience that couples the award-winning curriculum from K¹² with traditional brick-and-mortar education.

Program Overview

The educational program, which students attend on a daily basis at the school campus, combines a unique blend of teacher-delivered K¹² courses along with opportunities for independent learning through numerous virtual courses. This rigorous academic program is designed to meet or exceed the Delaware state standards and will prepare all students for postsecondary options.

Students enrolled in Maurice J. Moyer Academy receive:

  • Engaging and personalized learning that truly maximizes each student’s full potential by having both onsite Delaware highly qualified, certified teachers to teach students, as well as state-of-the-art digital tools and online courses and resources.

Who is this intended for?

Maurice J. Moyer Academy serves students in the New Castle county area in grades 6-12 who are able to attend the program full-time, five days a week, at the school site. Enrollment is limited to just 300 students, so families are encouraged to begin enrolling their students as early as possible to secure a seat for the 2011-2012 school year.

What about students with special needs?

As required by law, Maurice J. Moyer Academy will identify and serve eligible students who need to receive an appropriate educational program consisting of special education and related services.

What are the costs?

Because we are part of the public school system, Maurice J. Moyer Academy is tuition-free. The entire program, including curriculum, teacher and instructional support, and access to onsite computers and resources are provided free of charge.
