Teachers

Brenda Mahan has 27 years of experiences teaching early childhood education in Oklahoma. She holds a master's degree in elementary education, as well as National Board Certification in early childhood.

Stacy Lynn Jarrell received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Oklahoma Christian University. She taught second grade in Mustang and Edmond.

Teresa Carroll is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in family relations and child development with an emphasis in early childhood and elementary education, and a master's degree in secondary education from Northeastern State University. She has taught for 27 years in brick-and-mortar schools: 14 years in Tulsa Public Schools and 13 years in schools of all sizes in rural Oklahoma and the Kansas City area.

Celeste Claggett is a 2003 graduate of Oklahoma Christian University and a 2007 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a degree in business and elementary education.

Shella Fitzgerald has 20+ years of experience in teaching and school administration. Her undergraduate degree in education with math and science certification is from Harding College. Her master's degree in education is from the University of Oklahoma.

Gwen Gainesis a 2003 graduate of the University of Oklahoma. After graduating college with a bachelor’s degree in health and sport sciences, she began teaching in Tulsa and then relocated to Saint Augustine, Florida, where she taught in a brick-and-mortar school for seven years.

Amy Nicar is a 1996 Central Bible College graduate with a BA in Bible/general studies. She received her Special Education Teacher's Certification through Rio Salado College in 2004. She previously taught English and Reading for students with learning disabilities for four years in a brick-and-mortar school, and for one year at Arizona Virtual Academy before moving to Oklahoma.

Jenny Lang graduated with distinction with a bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Oklahoma in 2007. She then taught in brick-and-mortar schools for three years.

Earl Raney earned a bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University and a master's degree in art education from Northeastern Oklahoma University.

Shelley Thompson received her bachelor's degree in secondary English education from Oklahoma State University and her master's degree from Northeastern State University. She has taught middle and high school with Union Public Schools in Tulsa for the past four years, and in Missouri for four years prior to that.

Noelle Waller currently holds master’s degrees in elementary reading and literacy and elementary math, and she is working on a third master's degree in instructional design and technology. After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 1992, she began her teaching career teaching Pre-Kindergarten in an at-risk school and eventually moved up to third grade and taught in brick-and-mortar schools for 10 years.

Tirita Mock graduated with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Northeastern State University. She has previously taught second grade, kindergarten and Pre-K in Sand Springs.

Monica Graves attended Oklahoma State University and earned a degree in elementary education in 2007. She has taught sixth grade math in Sand Springs for the past four years.

Randall Monson has taught subjects ranging from world languages to mathematics at Oklahoma public schools.

Kim Nelson graduated from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri with a bachelor's degree in elementary and special education In 1993. Three years later, she earned her master's degree in elementary education at Columbia College in Columbia, South Carolina. She has taught special education for fifteen years in nine different school districts throughout the United States and Germany.

Cindy Millard is an Oklahoma State University graduate with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and an endorsement in middle school social studies. In 2003 she earned a master's degree in library science and educational leadership. Before coming to OVCA, Cindy taught for 22 years in the public schools of Oklahoma, mostly in Stillwater Public Schools.

Erika DeLuca graduated with an undergraduate and graduate degree from the University of Oklahoma. She has worked the past four years in Norman Public Schools.

Richard L. Rohde graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BA in history and a BS in secondary education. He also has endorsements for English, journalism, and speech/drama/debate. He taught one year at Grove Middle School, five years at White Oak School, and a year at Ripley High School. He also taught two years at NEO A&M College as an adjunct English instructor.

Cady Sandy is a 2004 Oklahoma State University graduate with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and an endorsement in early childhood education. Besides being a kindergarten through second-grade teacher, she is also the Tinker Teacher Support. She previously taught for four years in a brick-and-mortar school.

Holly Wyers graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in journalism and public relations. She is currently working toward a master's degree in education.

Ginger Trouba received her bachelor’s degree from Northeastern State University in December of 1995. She substituted in five different school districts and the Permeate Substitute at Catoosa JW Sam Elementary. She then taught first grade at Catoosa Public Schools.

Abbie Wilson graduated cum laude from Northeastern State University in 2005 with a degree in early childhood education. She began her teaching career with full-day kindergarten, and then moved to full-day pre-k.

Erin Starkey graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2002. She taught high school environmental science in Putnam City Schools, and middle school science and fifth grade elementary school in Norman Public Schools.  She is also certified in biological sciences, health/P.E, and early childhood education.

Andrea Delheimer graduated as Outstanding Senior from the University of Oklahoma in 2004 with a degree in elementary education. She previously taught fifth grade in Norman public schools for three years.

Kristin "Marina" Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in elementary and early childhood education from NSU. She has previously taught in traditional school systems for 14 years.

Nicole Ellison graduated from Rogers State University and is working toward her master's degree in education. She is Oklahoma state certified in elementary education and English 6–12, and has experience teaching in both the public school and private school settings.

Amy Conder began her teaching career in 1996 after graduating from Calvin College in Michigan with a BA in elementary education. In 2002, she received an MS in education from Cal State Hayward. She has taught in both elementary and middle schools in California for 14 years, and had worked as a school librarian and college guidance counselor.

Amanda Stewart has a bachelor's degree in secondary English education from Oklahoma State University, and a master's degree in library science and information technology from Northeastern State University. She has spent the last nine years teaching English at the high school level.

Rachel Thomason taught in Tulsa for seven years, then in Stillwater for six years.

Sandra Powell has taught for 17 years in both private and public schools in Indiana and Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with a bachelor's degree in teaching, with majors in biology and chemistry and a minor in physical science.

Julie Pfister graduated from the University of Kansas in 1990 with a degree in elementary education. She taught in brick-and-mortar schools for 10 years in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Palm Desert, California.

Audra Plummer taught for 15 years in the Norman Public Schools. She received a master's degree in instructional leadership and academic curriculum from the University of Oklahoma. In 2004, she earned National Board Teacher Certification. Besides teaching multiples, she is also the master lead teacher.

Jennifer Grant received a bachelor's degree from Lakeland College in Wisconsin. She taught high school German, English, and first grade in Lakewood, Washington. She earned a master's degree in teaching from Grand Canyon University in Arizona. She has also taught middle school English and reading and supported the pilot program for Response to Intervention (RtI). Jennifer is lead teacher as well as the Advanced Learning Program coordinator.

Pam Tarlton has earned a bachelor’s degree in special education with an emphasis in learning disabilities, as well as a master's degree (with honors) in bilingual education. She directed one of the largest special education departments in the Putnam City School District, leading teams of new teachers, and remediating language arts for students who are speakers of other languages. Pam is starting her thirteenth year of teaching this year as a special education teacher for OVCA.

Dawn Dyke is a graduate from Oral Roberts University with a bachelor's degree in marketing. After being a long-term substitute and PTA president in both elementary and intermediate grade levels, Dawn received her Alternative Certification in special education. She has certifications in elementary education, mild/moderate special education, severe/profound special education, and marketing.
