NVVA Meets AYP Goals

What is AYP?
AYP, or Adequate Yearly Progress, is a key measurement of a school's progress based on standards developed through 2001's No Child Left Behind (NCLB) education reform act. In Nevada, AYP is measured by performance on Nevada Criterion Referenced Tests (CRTs) and High School Proficiency Exams (HSPEs), the percentage of students who participate in these state standardized tests, and academic performance.

How Does this Affect NVVA?
Under NCLB, schools that do not make AYP across multiple years could face a variety of actions, up to and including restructuring or closure. NVVA high school is proud to have met AYP for the 2010–2011 school year, and looks forward to continued success in the coming years.

We're proud of our school's performance. We firmly believe our continued success is a testament to the quality of our teaching staff, the strength of our school's culture and community, and the superior design and deliverability of the K¹² curriculum. We look forward to continued success in the coming years, and hope that more families will continue to make NVVA the preferred method of education for Nevada's students!

What NVVA Parents Say

"I love NVVA for many reasons! Our teachers are so helpful and supportive! They really understand that every child is unique. I am so thankful that my family has had the opportunity to do virtual schooling at home. It has been such a blessing for us!"
—Parent of two children enrolled in NVVA, grades 4 and 5

"I have really enjoyed my NVVA experience! I like that we can be flexible with our schedule when need be. The K¹² curriculum is wonderful, especially the fact that there is constant reinforcement of main points throughout each lesson. I can see both of my children growing and actually enjoying learning. Thank you for making this such an excellent option for us!"
