Whether you're already enrolled or are thinking about it and want to learn more, don’t miss the LVS Topeka Zoo Education Showcase on May 19, presented by LVS and K12.
For families thinking about enrolling, you'll learn more about what it means to be a Lawrence Virtual School student and experience the same types of activities our students take part in each year. You'll meet LVS teachers, staff, and families—hear more about our school and our award-winning K12 curriculum. And with 2009-2010 enrollment now open—and the roster filling up fast—there's no better time to learn how you can make a big change in your child's education this year.
For families already enrolled, come celebrate the end of the year with family, friends, and teachers—and get into the spirit of summer! This is a great opportunity to reflect on all you’ve accomplished this past year and get a sneak peek at what's coming up.
As part of our Education Showcase, your family receives free admission to the Topeka Zoo, so come experience the many exhibits, including:
- African Savannah (including Grant’s zebras)
- Black Bear Woods (including 3 black bears—Juneau, Sneak, and Peek)
- Discovering Apes (orangutan habitat)
- Jungle cats (featuring two Sumatran tigers—Kavi and Raguno—and African black leopards Buta, Tosha, and Emma)
- Lion’s Pride (including Asante and Zuri, two female lions)
- Tropical Rain forest (a 100-foot diameter dome featuring a wide variety of free-ranging mammals, birds, and reptiles, in a lush tropical environment)
