Accreditation
Accreditation is your assurance of K¹² International Academy’s academic excellence.
Accreditation provides reciprocity of credits, courses, and grade-level placements between schools and universities around the world, and validation of the equivalency of diplomas and certificates to other accredited schools and universities. Accreditation ensures a consistent level of quality in a network of participating schools that is valued by the public and by colleges and universities. In addition, students in accredited schools become part of a worldwide network of quality institutions focused on student performance.
K¹² International Academy is an Accredited School
K¹² International Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI)
, an accreditation division of AdvancED (Advancing Excellence in Education)
, and is also officially recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an accredited institution.
Founded in 1895, SACS CASI accredits over 13,000 schools and school systems throughout the United States and overseas. AdvancED is the parent organization of the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). AdvancED is the world's largest education community, engaging 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the United States and in 65 countries worldwide and educating 15 million students.
The K¹² International Academy is also recognized by the Commonwealth of Virginia as an accredited, diploma granting institution on the authority of the Virginia Council for Private Education (VCPE).
VCPE oversees the accreditation of private preschools, elementary, and secondary schools in the Commonwealth, guaranteeing the transfer of student credits from a state-recognized, accredited private school to a public school, as well as ensuring recognition of teacher licensure credits for time served in an accredited private school.
As noted by AdvanceED, the accreditation process breeds a culture dedicated to excellence - never satisfied with good, always striving for greatness. Accreditation welcomes the constructive feedback of peers; and demands rigor, is based in data, and approaches documentation of results with discipline. Accreditation is about making the quest for excellence a habit; it's about being the best a school can be on behalf of the students it serves.
