Curriculum

The K¹² curriculum, widely recognized as representing the gold standard in K-12 online education, offers rich, challenging, and engaging content. Offline materials, including textbooks, CDs, videos, and hands-on manipulatives, complement interactive online elements to address different learning styles and maximize the learning experience for all students.

Not all online courses are made the same

K¹² serves more online courses to the K-12 market than any other online curriculum provider—and it's in large part because K¹² raises the bar for delivery of the highest standard of course quality.

For instance, unlike many other course providers, K¹² doesn't just scan a textbook and call it an online course. K¹² courses are designed and developed for online delivery from the outset. A team of curriculum experts and course designers start from scratch, thoroughly scoping out the learning objectives for each course, and mapping out a strategy for how best to accomplish those objectives using online text, graphics, charts, illustrations, interactive demonstrations, offline reading materials or activities, and interactive online discussions (for high school courses). And to ensure this is achieved correctly, K¹² then conducts usability testing with intended audiences to make sure they can easily navigate through the lessons and master the learning objectives, as intended.

K¹² knows that the combination of rich, engaging content with interesting interactive demonstrations and activities help students absorb and retain information. Graded assignments and assessments further allow students to demonstrate progress against learning objectives.
