Community and Events Overview

The K¹² International Academy facilitates connections between students around the world, between students and teachers and parents—both online and off. A variety of Web 2.0-type applications have been incorporated into the online experience, particularly within the K¹²9¹² high school program—so students can “chat” with a friend on the way to class, join an online group discussion gathering in the “hallway,” stop by the virtual “office” to talk to their guidance counselor, listen to the daily announcements over the “loudspeaker,” or join an after-school club.

There are student bulletin boards and competitions, as well as a variety of other ways for students to get involved, demonstrate leadership, showcase their creativity or hard work, and share ideas and experiences with fellow students. The K¹² International Academy program provides the opportunity to create new friendships and socialization in the vibrant iCademy community, as well across other virtual academies offering the K¹² program.
