Aloha from the Hawaii Technology Academy -- An Approved Public Charter School
Thank you for your interest in the Hawaii Technology Academy (HTA), an exciting new charter school. Our Interim Local School Board has been working diligently with the state-appointed Charter School Review Panel (CSRP) to offer a revolutionary new education choice for your student. Hawaii Technology Academy is an innovative virtual school option, open initially to Oahu students in grades K-10 for the 2008-2009 school year. Hawaii Technology Academy will expand in future years to students across the state in grades K-12, giving them the opportunity to use technology and innovative online courses to complete their education. The Charter School Review Panel has reviewed our application and awarded a charter for the 2008-2009 school year!
Our charter school will be a tuiton-free public school program that will provide the following at no charge:
- The innovative K12 curriculum and Online School (OLS)
- High-quality lessons in core subjects, delivered via the OLS
- A complete set of grade-appropriate materials to accompany lessons
- Hawaii-certified teachers
- Oahu Learning Center activities
