Learning Centers
Hoosier Academies students spend a majority of their instructional time at Learning Centers established in Indianapolis and Muncie. These Learning Centers are used for teacher-led direct instruction in Language Arts, Math, Science, History, and Art. In addition, they also offer opportunities for Math and Language Arts remediation, test readiness, and regular assessments, as well as the administration of state assessments, parent and teacher training, and student interest group sessions.
The Learning Centers are equipped with interactive SMART Boards to enable teachers to deliver instruction on a state-of-the art technology platform that transforms the classroom into a dynamic learning environment to better engage the student in the learning process.
While enrollment in the Hoosier Academies is available to all eligible Indiana residents, students must be able to attend one of the Learning Centers twice a week. Families will be assigned a scheduled based on Learning Center availability. Families will have the opportunity to request schedule preference prior to the school year starting; however, Hoosier Academies cannot guarantee preferences.
