FAQs – Testing & Assessment
If there are grades, how will they be determined?
The FloridaVirtual Programs are mastery-based, which means students master concepts and lessons before moving on to the next lesson. Students will be required to submit assignments to their teachers for evaluation and feedback. Teachers will assess mastery and provide quantitative feedback in the secondary grades. Quantitative grading begins at sixth grade.
What tests are required as part of the program?
In addition to K¹² lesson, unit, and semester assessments, all students are required to participate in state testing.
All kindergartners will be tested in their resident district within the first 30 days of school.
Do I have to participate in state testing?
All students are required to participate in state testing, and are subject to dismissal if they do not participate.
