No One Has Trained More Professionals How to Teach Online
K¹² has successfully trained over 2,400 teachers in our online instruction methods—allowing them to leverage the latest educational technologies, expand their skill set, and meet individual students’ needs in new and exciting ways. If you decide to have your own staff teach our online curriculum, K¹² offers a comprehensive program with two training options:
New Teacher Induction (Year-Long)
This option provides start-up training for newly hired teachers. Choose from a K–8 course or high school course, which are each approximately 40–50 hours in length. Utilizing both synchronous and asynchronous components, each course exemplifies the same instructional methods and practices utilized within our curriculum.
Topics include:
- Use of K¹² proprietary systems and tools
- The role of the online teacher
- Working with students’ families (Learning Coaches, mentors, etc.)
- Virtual instruction and curriculum
Please note: Training on school-specific or state-specific policies and procedures is not included.
National Professional Development (Ongoing)
For teachers who have completed the year-long induction course, this option offers continued learning across a variety of subjects—with session components delivered synchronously or asynchronously, depending on the material.
Teachers can apply for education credit in their respective district or state. Topics many vary from year to year, and may include:
- Changes and updates to K¹² systems
- Curriculum training
- Communication strategies
- Virtual instruction skills
- Individualized instruction
- Student engagement and retention
- Developing the partnering relationship with families
- Targeting state standards for instruction
Beyond these specific training options, your K¹²-trained teachers will have access to our toll-free hotline—available Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM (ET)—so that they can get answers from K¹² master teachers about curriculum, instruction, tools, and more.
