College & Career Counseling

Keeping an Eye on the Future

Successful education programs aren't just concerned with the now; they have students' futures to look out for, as well as their present. This is why K¹² offers a full package of college and career services for students in grades 7–12.

Online Counseling Services

Through our Web-based counseling system, students can explore college and career options, take part in creating their Individualized Learning Plan, construct a resume, and more.

Individualized Learning Plan (ILP)

K¹²'s Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) maps out a student's multi-year personalized learning strategy. It is designed to organize and properly sequence the student's course work while helping articulate the student's academic strengths and weaknesses—all in relation to the student's personal goals and mission statement identified as part of the ILP process.

Finding Your Path—Planning for Career and College Course

This 30–40 hour K¹² course is unique for each student. School counseling staff guide students through an in-depth exploration of their interests, abilities, and skills. Students explore their education and career interests, define goals, and create a path through high school that will get them there. In addition, this course serves as a "home base" where students and school counselors can address topics that are critical in ensuring success in high school and beyond. Use of the K¹² online career and college counseling tools are featured in this course. (Students may re-enroll in this course yearly. Many course activities are related to specific grade levels and proximity to graduation.)
