K¹² offers professional development and training services that help teachers acquire the right knowledge, skills, and unshakable confidence to teach online courses well. These services comprise a dynamic process that’s ongoing and supports superior job performance.

Based on research in effective online teaching and delivery, we apply a five-step iterative process and create training and professional development programs that help our teachers do their job better.

We begin by evaluating and making needs assessments. Then we design a training program using appropriate methods and media, and develop the necessary training. We implement the training, which is delivered either face-to-face, virtually, or through blended methods, and evaluate the effectiveness of the training product.

Before we do all this, we invite teachers and administrators to attend an orientation that covers the basics of working in a virtual school using the K12 curriculum. It’s here they become familiar with the K12 program and our award-winning curriculum; gain an understanding of K12 student profiles in other virtual schools; learn about the K12 platform tools and reports; and discuss enrollment, logistics, and operations.

We also offer training workshops, web seminars, web-based training, and quick reference tools to meet the needs of our growing schools.

These events and items help support system upgrades, and they give teachers a better understanding of content changes and process improvements.
