Letter from Our Head of School

The Chicago Virtual Charter School is a rigorous, fully accredited Chicago public school, available tuition-free to all Chicago families who are motivated to participate in a parent-coached and teacher-guided education option. In order to provide the very best education possible to every child in our school, we use:

• A carefully planned and balanced program that includes self-paced work and weekly classroom time

Every year at CVCS is a year of growth—for everyone. Our second year saw us almost double in size, add several new programs, start a high school, and provide great new technology supports to learning in online and physical classrooms. Our very best support to learning, though, is not technology but people. I am very proud of the dedicated staff who work with me to provide every CVCS student with the best support he or she could want. We expect the 2008-2009 school year to be the best ever, with many new support programs and exciting activities in the works. We’ll be expanding our high school program to include 10th grade, and we look forward to welcoming many new students at every grade level into the CVCS family as we welcome back our returning students.
