Algebra I Foundations
Course Description
In this course, students master the basic tools of algebra. Students study the following topics: identifying the structure and properties of the real number system; completing operations with integers and other rational numbers; working with square roots and irrational numbers; graphing linear equations; solving linear equations and inequalities in one variable; solving systems of linear equations; using ratios, proportions, and percentages to solve problems; using algebraic applications in geometry including the Pythagorean theorem and formulas for measuring area and volume; completing an introduction to polynomials; and learning about logic and reasoning.
