British Literature
Course Description
As students explore various works of British literature, they learn not only how the world has influenced writers, but also how writers have influenced the world. Students explore issues of relationship and influence among poems, novels, plays, and essays. Readings encompass works from medieval to modern times, including excerpts from Beowulf, The Canterbury Tales, The Faerie Queene, and Paradise Lost. Students also study Shakespeare's Hamlet and Othello.
