Course Description

Examining the complex interaction of people, events, social trends, and political issues, students explore the history of the United States from prehistoric times to the contemporary nation. Students begin by reviewing native civilizations that populated the Americas, followed by the religious and social events in Europe that led to the colonization of America and the Revolutionary War. Students then explore the Civil War and Reconstruction, the Industrial Revolution, the Great Depression, the World Wars, the civil rights movement, and the present global status and influence of the United States.
