Aventa Learning by K¹²: High School Language Arts
Our high school language arts courses have been built to give students in NetworK¹² schools a strong grounding in the fundamentals of English. Students will build language and reading comprehension skills while analyzing literature, poetry, drama, and informative articles. Their writing, speaking, and research skills will be honed over the course of their study.
HS Language Arts | HS Math | HS Science | HS Social Studies | HS AP and Electives | Middle School Courses
Here are some representative readings from our core English courses:
- English I – The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail, Jerome and Robert E. Lee
- English II – Antigone, Marcus Aurelius; Enemy of the People, Henrik Ibsen
- English III (American Literature and Composition) – The Crucible, Arthur Miller; The Sweet Hereafter, Russell Banks
- English IV (Humanities and Composition) – Hamlet, Shakespeare
Once students have completed their core courses, they will have the language skills they need to be successful in college and in life.
Our Advanced Placement® (AP®) and elective language arts courses help serve students who need more challenge or support as they develop their language skills.
