Further Considerations:
Most positions are full time; however, noting that some enrolled students live in more rural and remote parts of California, the need for part-time teachers to serve these students locally is high. Also, as a school with open enrollment, there are times when there are not enough students to fill a full-time position, therefore providing an opening for a part-time teaching position. A part-time position involves all of the same responsibilities as full-time but bears a reduced class load.
Assignment of Students:
Students will be assigned to teachers by the Head of Schools or designees according to a number of variables. In general, the Head of Schools assigns students by geographical location and grade level. Full-time classes will be filed prior to assigning students to part-time teachers. Teachers with special education experience will be assigned students with special needs. When appropriate, students from the same family will be assigned to a single teacher. Special education teachers will, in most cases, also be assigned regular education students.
