Accreditation
California Virtual Academies is Now a Fully Accredited School
California Virtual Academies is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools (ACS) of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) for all academies, grades K–12, with the exception of our two newest programs: CAVA@Los Angeles High School and CAVA@Santa Ysabel.
The ACS uses the highest performance standards and research-based criteria when identifying schools or districts that provide exemplary education to their students.
CAVA was recognized for offering a highly regarded, high-quality education to all students in grades K–12, and, through ongoing assessments, agrees to continue to meet the expectations and criteria set forth by the ACS and WASC, as well as exhibit self-improvement on an ongoing basis.
Administrators and families trust CAVA's mission to provide an education that's grounded in the best academic standards, so that all children can achieve their full academic potential. We take this mission seriously, and it is an honor to be recognized by ACS and WASC.
The core philosophy of California Virtual Academies is that all young people can achieve academic excellence when given access to rigorous instruction, informed guidance, and individual attention. Using this philosophy, we will continue to demonstrate our commitment to ensuring students receive the best education possible that's available to them today.
It's no surprise that CAVA is among the top-scoring online schools in the state. As a WASC-accredited charter school, we hope to set an example as a valued curriculum and education provider that ensures only the best for thousands of students across the state.

CAVA and the UC A-G Requirements
We are partnered with K¹² for our A-G requirements. To see what K¹² courses are approved, visit the Doorways site for the University of California and look under "K¹²." Please keep in mind that we are still in the final stages of approval, so not all courses may be listed. Submissions for the 2011–2012 school year have been completed by K¹² staff, and we hope to have updated approvals and course lists available soon.
Many CAVA students have been accepted to the UC and CSU system. You can see a partial list of colleges that K¹² students have been accepted to here.
