Battle of the Bands
The Third Annual AZVA Battle of the Bands
If you live in Arizona, are in grades 8-12, and are in a band, come out and show off your chops! Rock, punk, pop, country, bluegrass, hip-hop, Christian, Latin, acoustic…whatever your style is, whether you play covers or originals, we want you there!
The details:
Peoria
Friday, April 23
Rio Vista Recreation Center
8866 W. Thunderbird Road
Peoria 85381
Rehearsal and set-up: 5:30 pm
Competition: 7:00 - 9:00 pm
In addition to the Battle, you'll also enjoy the fabulous sounds of Phoenix’s own DJ Mando!
Door prizes will be awarded, and the band judged the best will receive our Grand Prize. Judging will be based on the following criteria:
- Overall stage presence/entertainment value
- Musicianship, AKA 'chops'
- Originality/style
- Crowd response
Important stuff to know:
- Only bands with acceptable lyrical content/song choice will be invited to perform. You may be asked to provide lyrics for approval of songs you will be performing.
- Bands are expected to provide their own instruments, equipment, amplifiers, and cords. We'll provide the PA set-up.
- Band members must be in grades 8-12. Certain exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
- All Rio Vista Park rules apply. Visit the City of Peoria's Web site and select Rio Vista Recreation Center for more details.
