Connect to an AZVA Parent

Choose an AZVA Parent and Begin Communicating

At AZVA, we make it possible for parents who are exploring our online public school to connect with parents who are already in our program.

Now you can get answers to all your questions from a veteran AZVA parent: from the K¹² curriculum and online lessons, to social opportunities and enrollment. Also, you can find out what a day in their world is like with K¹² and AZVA.

Learn more about our AZVA parents below. Then select the link under a parent's bio to start a conversation with that parent by e-mail.

Aimee says: "Working as a family to provide our kids a quality education has been a great experience for us. The materials supplied by K¹² are outstanding. The AZVA program has built-in support systems, but is still really flexible. Our kids enjoy their online classes and love meeting up with other AZVA families. AZVA has an active Parent Booster program, which is great for families who want to get more involved in planning events and activities. There are lots of clubs available for kids of all ages—our middle school student even participates in National Junior Honor Society. AZVA is the perfect fit for our family."

AZVA parent: Melanie C.
  • City: Tempe
  • Grades children are currently enrolled in: Seventh
  • Years with K¹²: 1.5

Melanie says: "We found K¹² and AZVA when my son was in fifth grade. The public school he had been attending was no longer providing retained learning, positive interaction, or opportunities for success. I was frustrated and unsure of where to really go. I clicked on an e-mail ad for K¹² and was impressed, but still skeptical. I signed up to go to an event at our local zoo and did a lot of research and basically read and listened to everything the K¹² website had to offer. Then I had the discussion with my husband about what I thought this could mean for our son's educational journey. We attended the event and agreed this was the right vehicle for our journey. That was a year and a half ago. My son and I have different learning styles so meshing those to work together is an ongoing challenge but nothing is impossible. K¹² and AZVA provide me with any tool I could possibly need to make sure my son receives a quality education. Then it's up to me if I use those tools—and I do!" "

AZVA parent: Joan L.
  • City: Surprise
  • Grades children are currently enrolled in: Ninth and twelfth
  • Years with K¹²: 4

Joan says: "We chose AZVA for its personal, one-on-one contact with the teachers, mentors, and students. Our students feel like people, not just a number lost in the crowd. We didn't want our kids to fall through the cracks. With over 38 K–8 schools feeding into four high schools in our district, there can be upwards of 2000 freshmen in each school. We didn't want our students to be a part of such a large group where they could easily be overlooked, not being the smartest or neediest students of the bunch. We definitely made the right decision with AZVA as our oldest has been ranked #1 in her class of more than 200 for the past three years, and our freshman is able to take sophomore level honors classes. Both work at their own ability, not what a school says is their grade level."
