Enrollment & Attendance FAQs
Who can attend AKVA?
The Alaska Virtual Academy serves full-time students in grades K-8 who are official residents of the state of Alaska.
How do I enroll my child in the Alaska Virtual Academy?
To find out how to enroll in AKVA, visit our How to Enroll page.
How many of my children can I enroll in the Alaska Virtual Academy?
Because the Alaska Virtual Academy provides all the lesson plans and materials needed for kindergarten through grade 8, many parents find it easy to enroll multiple children in the program. We currently have families with as many as five children enrolled in other public virtual schools being guided by one learning coach or mentor in conjunction with the support of highly qualified, state-certified teachers.
What does it cost to attend the Alaska Virtual Academy?
Because we are part of the public school system, the Alaska Virtual Academy is available to all district residents tuition free. The entire K¹² curriculum is provided free of charge, as well as a loaner computer, printer, and Internet reimbursement. However, students and families will be responsible for providing some consumable materials (such as printer ink and paper).
