    This is the first in a series of three, free, online Week of the Young Child celebrations hosted by PA certified teachers and centered around the theme of animals and nature. This celebration features a poem and activity about sheep, a virtual field trip to visit some farm animals and a duck pond, and a special story about ducks! This is a great example of how live sessions are conducted for early elementary students. 

    Please print out or gather and "bring" the following items to participate fully in this celebration:

    • *children's scissors
    • *print (and color in advance) the attachments
    • *Optional (recommended) items to also bring for extra fun: 7 tongue depressors or popsicle sticks, a few cotton balls, a glue stick, an old shoebox lined with plastic and filled with some dirt or sand, and some fresh picked grass (if you wish).

This celebration will feature an exploration of farms, a virtual field trip to a dairy farm, an experiment in butter making, and a special story about where milk comes from! This is a great example of how live sessions are conducted for early elementary students. 

    Please print out the attachments and gather and "bring" the following items to this celebration:

    • *children's scissors
    • *glue stick
    • *crayons
    • *print all five attached documents in advance
    • *Optional (recommended) items to also "bring" to participate in the butter making experiment (with adult assistance and supervision) are listed in the attachment - or simply observe the teacher demo.

This celebration will feature an exploration of animals, their skin coverings, and how they move, featuring a special virtual field trip to the Pittsburgh ZOO with Mr. Scott Feely (Agora Community Event Coordinator & Wild World of Animals Presenter extraordinaire)! This is a great example of how live sessions are conducted for early elementary students. 

    Please print out the attachments and gather and "bring" the following items to this celebration:

    • *glue stick
    • *children's scissors
    • *crayons
    • *yarn or string (6 pieces - varying lengths between 1 to 2 feet)
    • *clothes hanger
